2009 Christmas Medical Mission Completed
DollarAMonth Ministries just completed a medical mission to the villiage of Fond Blanc Haiti, located about 50 miles northwest of Port-Au-Prince. The villiage of about 3000 people has no access to any public utilities and lacks a doctor and pharmacy. Over the course of the two day clinic a team of 6 Americans a five Hatians treated 480 patients supplying them with much needed medications and procedures. Two of the patients seen were experiencing life threatning conditions. An 18 month old boy had a severe case of Pneumonia and an adult male had a bad broken leg that was severely infected. Through the efforts of all involved the lives of many were greatly improved. Several pregnant ladies received pre-natal vitamins and vitamins were supplied to most of the children seen as well.

DollaraMonth Sponsored Orphanage Collapses
DollarAMonth Ministries has learned that one of the two orphanages we support in Haiti has collapsed. The orphange, located in the PAP suburb of Fontamara collapsed during the 7.0 earthquake that hit Haiti on January 12, 2009 all 55 children and 2 staff members escaped unharmed. The children are now staying in the open courtyard of a church along with the rest of our mission staff. These children are essentially homeless as the new orphanage that has been under construction has not been completed and has suffered sonme minor damage as well. It is estimated that $10,000 to 12,000 will be required to repair the damage and complete the orphanage to give these children a home.
I am happy to report that the orphanage at Carrefour (the epicenter of the quake) has survived and all children and staff are safe. The church and mission house also seem to have escaped any serious damage.
We are in desperate need of funds to assist in the repair and complete the orpahanage in Fontamara as well as feed and care for the orphanage and mission staff in PAP. If you would like to help please contact us at TerryDavis@DollarAmonth.org or send donations to:
