MEET OUR BOARD
Terry Davis, Chairman/Founder, DollarAMonth Ministries, Inc

Dollar A Month Ministries was founded by Terry Davis in May of 2004 after his first mission trip to Haiti. Upon return from Haiti in December 2002, God laid upon his heart to began a ministry to feed school children in the village of Fond Blanc, Haiti. A year and a half later, Dollar A Month was born with this motto, “Impacting Haiti One Dollar At A Time”. The ministry operated for nearly two years before it was able to begin it’s first feeding program in September 2006, however along the way was able to assist in saving the life of an orphanage director in Port-Au-Prince after he had been shot in late 2004 in a random drive by shooting following the ouster of President Aristide. At it’s high point, the feeding program fed 150 students, three days per week during the school year, free of charge.

Following the earthquake in January 2010, God revealed the need to grow the ministry and take on some additional projects, to facilitate this process a board of directors was appointed, the ministry was incorporated as a non-profit and application for 501c3 applied for. Terry believes that God is a God of government and organization, and as such the ministry could only grow if set up as directed by God. Thus Dollar A Month Ministries, Inc was born and a new motto, “Winning Souls to Christ in the country of Haiti”.

Currently Dollar A Month Ministries, Inc is governed by a 5 member board of directors. A chairmen appointed by the board of directors oversees day to day operation of the ministry within the by-laws and guidelines set forth by the board. There are also two corporate officers that are appointed by the board, a secretary and a treasurer.

Terry Davis was “Born Again” on September 13, 1999 and began a teaching ministry about six months later. Called to the mission field he made his first trip to Haiti in November 2002 and over the years has made multiple trips to Haiti. His wife is an avid supporter of the ministry and has made several trips to Haiti as well, serving as a Dental Assistant in clinics that have treated over 900 people. His 26 year old son, his 8 year old son and his wife completed a dental mission trip to Port-Au Prince with Terry, God has truly blessed him to have his entire family involved.

On January 21, 2010 God completed a miracle in delivering his 16 year old adopted son, Watson, from Haiti following a nearly three year odyssey of the adoption process in Haiti. God spared his son in the earthquake and he was evacuated to the United States by the U.S. Air Force.

Harold Miller

I have been married to Carolyn for 35 years. We have three grown children. Joanna, our oldest, is a school teacher. She has been a teacher for approximately 9 years. Katie, our middle child, is our office manager at The Miller Service Company. Our youngest, Seth, is part owner of The Miller Service Company. We have owned/operated this business since 1975.

My military career was 2yrs, starting in 1970 to 1972. I joined the draft while I was in college, and I later returned to finish my degree. I received my BS in Animal Science from MTSU in 1975. After college I started my business, and have continued to grow and change with each year.

I have attended Baptist churches all my life. I served as a Youth Director, along with my wife, at Short Creek Baptist Church. While there, I also served as a Sunday school teacher. We later moved to Fosterville Baptist Church, where I was ordained as a Deacon. I eventually served as Chairman of the Deacons. My family, along with two other families, started a church, Christ’s Community Church, where I currently serve as a Deacon.

My experience in missions started in 2004 with a trip to Sierra Leone, Africa. I returned for a second trip to Sierra Leone, Africa in 2006. I established a relationship in an agricultural community, and later sent a cargo container filled with medical and agricultural supplies.

My most recent mission is with the Christian Appalachian Project in Mt. Vernon, KY. I have also been led to assist Family Worship Center in Lebanon, TN, on a work project in Sneedville, TN, known as the Jubilee Center run by a United Methodist group.

My interest in DOM ministries has been fueled by a Haiti delegation visit to our church. Terry Davis, his son Trey, and daughter-in-law Megan shared their story about working during a short term medical trip. I do feel led to help in any way I can, and my greatest burden is for the children of that country.

For the future, I have recently accepted a call for a medical mission trip to Ethiopia in east Africa for November, 2011.

Roy Wood

My name is Roy Wood. I born in Fort Payne, Alabama and lived there until the age of nineteen. Having been raised in church as a child, I was influenced by some great men in ministry that left a lasting mark on my life that still remains today. At the age of nineteen I accepted the call to ministry, and later in the same year met my wife Amanda, and we were married eight months later. We now reside in middle Tennessee where we are raising five children.
After working with several ministries over the last thirteen years, some of which were involved in missions, I realized that there was a tremendous need for ministry outside the four walls of the church. I have been involved with the salvation army, the nursing home, and also, jail ministry.
After supporting foreign ministries only financially, I begin to feel the burden to go into other countries and get involved with a more hands on approach. After talking with our founder, Terry Davis, about his vision
to expand the Dollar a month ministry, I accepted a position to sit on the board of this heart-felt ministry. I am pleased to serve with a group with such burden and integrity. Dollar a month is a great way for you to get involved in supporting missions.

Trey Davis

Trey Davis, 26, resides with his wife, Megan, and son, Houston, in Murfreesboro, TN. He is currently a member of Christ’s Community Church of Christiana and holds the position of youth director. Trey is a self-described “Christ-Follower” and came to know and accept Jesus Christ at the age of 22. It was at Christ’s Community Church that Trey’s love for mission work began. On a mission trip to Madamoras, Mexico in 2008, Trey accepted the call on his life to participate in missions. From this point forward, he has maintained a steady foothold in numerous ministries, most prominently in Haiti and his hometown of Murfreesboro, TN.
Trey and his wife Megan embarked on their first trip to Haiti in 2009 with Dollar-A-Month Ministries. It was on this trip that Trey decided to devote his efforts to support the work of Dollar-A-Month Ministries. Trey was able to see that the work done by Dollar-A-Month was unlike any mission opportunity he had previously experienced. The focus of this ministry on serving the people as Jesus himself had done really spoke to Trey. He was also impressed by the insistence on educating Haitians about the redeeming power of Jesus. For these reasons, Trey accepted a position on the board of Dollar-A-Month Ministries and has sworn to serve faithfully and diligently.
